Andy Murray beats Tim Henman - Oct-05

The Tennis Match between Andy Murray and Tim Henman was described in the press as the “Changing of the Guard” or the “Battle of Britiain”.

Before this match, started Murray was preparing to play his tennis idol, while Henman was returning from injury. Both players looked nerves as the match started however, Tim Henman seemed to be the tightest of the two men due to the lack of recent match play. This allowed Murray to express his game more freely winning the first four games with little trouble. The first set ended 6-2 to Andy.

In the second set around 46 minutes in, Henman started to attack placing Andy off balance. Tim brakes to a 3-1 lead after the ball hits the net and drops swiftly to the ground. However, Murray breaks straight back after a poor service game by Tim.

One hour into the game, its 4-3 in the second and the tennis match becomes a much closer affair. Andy Murray serves for the match at 5-4 however, Henman heroically fights back to win 7-5.

In a match with many errors due to the level of tension and tightness in each players game shown by Andy Murray first serves in: 47% while Tim Henman: 45%.Tim leads the match for the first time in the start of the third set with the 1st set lasting 36 minutes and the 2nd lasting 46 minutes. The set follows service until the tension rises up to the final tiebreak.

In the tiebreak Murray takes a 3-0 lead before Henman wins the first point. At 5-4 Tim missed firing into the net, Andy Murray has 3 match points. On the other hand, at 6-4 it seems as if Tim can turn the match around. However, The Murray mentality holds to take a memorable career victory 7-6 in the third in two hours and thirteen minutes.
